What’s so special about Homecamp bell tents?

Unlike most other Bell Tent companies, Homecamp is 100% Australian owned and we make our tents to withstand the extreme climate and tough camping conditions found on our fair continent. 

Since starting Homecamp in 2014 there has been a proliferation of Bell Tent companies and it can be difficult to distinguish good from bad (hint: there are plenty of bad!).

In summary, the Homecamp point of difference is superior materials, quality build and awesome features as standard. 

Here are the details:

Superior Materials:

  • Canvas - we make out tents using custom manufactured cotton-poly canvas which is best suited to the Australian varied (and sometimes extreme) climate and rugged camping conditions. This canvas is less prone to damage by UV, mould/mildew, and has a high tear strength compared to most other bell tent manufacturers canvas. 
  • Flyscreen - all of our bell tents use premium flyscreen and we rarely have any issues with broken screens, something lacking in most other brands. 
  • Zips - we use custom-made YKK zips on the doors and windows - again very rare that we have any issues with broken zips. 
  • Parts - we use custom-made colour-coded buckles and toggles and high-quality webbing. We use our own branded aluminium guy adjusters.
  • Pegs - Our guy rope pegs are made from extremely durable twisted rebar stainless steel that doesn’t easily bend 

Quality Build

  • Sewing and finishing - the devil is in the detail! Other bell tents are prone to rips when exposed to extreme weather - our tents are held together with strong double stitched seams and reinforced in high-stress areas. 

Awesome Features

  • Zip-off floors double-wall - all Homecamp Bell Tents have sidewalls that can be unzipped and rolled up exposing another wall (that can also be unzipped) made from heavy-duty flyscreen. This means you can take advantage of the cross breeze without the bugs.  
  • Proper carry bag - our carry bags are designed by us and generously proportioned so you can easily pack your tent away.
  • Fireproofing - our Classic Bell Tents are made from flameproofing that is embedded in the body of the fibre before weaving the canvas. This process is approved by the OEKO-TEX® 100 label and EU Ecolabel.
  • Installed Stove Jack - our Classic range comes with a pre-installed velcro stove flap, so there is no need to cut a hole in your tent to install a wood-burning stove
  • Useful pockets - each tent has Homecamp designed extra large storage pockets for your valuable
