Fenby Chair Care Instructions & Warranty

Care Instructions:

Congratulations on the purchase of your Homecamp Fenby Foldaway Chair. You’ve acquired a beautiful piece of furniture that we hope will be cherished for years to come. Below are some simple care instructions to help you get the most out of your new chair.

Storing and Cleaning:

The Fenby Chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. We recommend taking care of your chair by storing it in its canvas bag in a dry, low-humidity environment when not in use. Clean the Fenby Chair with mild soap and a soft brush, then air-dry naturally. Pay special attention to removing any sand or dirt from the chair's feet after use.

The chair sling can be hand-washed using a mild detergent or soap (we suggest Castile soap) and cold water.

Further Protection:

To maximize the chair's lifespan, store it in its canvas bag when not in use. Exposure to humidity, UV, and saltwater environments can cause damage, so exercise caution. While the Fenby Chair has been lightly oiled for a natural appearance, for constant outdoor use, consider recoating periodically with Danish Oil or Hardwax Oil for the best finish and protection.

Clean the wood surface, dry it, lightly sand (if required), and apply a thin coat of oil to finish. For additional protection, consider a Polyurethane-based coating, noting that it may alter the wood's appearance.

Put your chair away after use, especially in hot sun or overnight, to maximize its lifespan. Prolonged exposure to humidity, UV, and saltwater can weaken the sling canvas or cause colour fading. If left in the sun, the canvas may weaken, resulting in holes, rips, or tears at stress points. Contact us for advice on repair or replacement.

In Use:

  • Do not exceed the weight limit of 120 kg.
  • Do not stand on the chair to prevent damage or injury.
  • Check for loose bolts and chair legs when in use and re-tighten if necessary.
  • Avoid placing hot or wet items directly on the product.

With these simple maintenance instructions, your chair should provide years of service.

Fenby Chair Warranty

Homecamp guarantees the purchaser of this product (Homecamp Foldaway Fenby Chair) that the purchased product is in good condition with all parts complete and functioning normally. The warranty period is valid for one year from the date of purchase.

This warranty covers manufacturing faults such as defective wood, upholstery, or hardware parts and is limited to the original purchaser for the first-time purchase only. It does not cover faults or damage due to improper use, natural disasters, or other force majeure factors.

The warranty does not cover damage caused by not following the original manufacturer's instructions, natural wear, scratches, breakage, rips, tears, stains, misassembly, or disassembly. Wood is a natural product, and colour or texture inconsistencies are normal and not grounds for return or exchange.

Wear and Tear Clause:

Homecamp acknowledges that the Fenby Chair is designed for outdoor use, and normal wear and tear are expected over time. Normal wear and tear include gradual colour fading, minor fabric fraying, and softening of materials due to exposure to sunlight, rain, wind, and other environmental elements. These changes are considered natural and can result in tearing in the canvas sling. These changes are not covered under the warranty.

Usage Guidelines:

To maximise the lifespan of the product, customers are advised to adhere to the care instructions provided in the accompanying manual. Proper maintenance, storage, and periodic cleaning as outlined in the care instructions will contribute to the longevity of the product.

Exclusions from Warranty:

The warranty does not cover damages resulting from misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance of the product. It also does not cover damages caused by acts of nature, vandalism, or any other external forces beyond the product's intended use.

Assessment of Wear and Tear:

Determining what constitutes normal wear and tear versus damage will be at the discretion of Homecamp. Homecamp reserves the right to assess and make judgments on the condition of the product upon return or during any warranty claims.

Customer Responsibility:

Customers are encouraged to inspect their Fenby Chair regularly and promptly address any issues related to wear and tear. Contact Homecamp for advice on care, maintenance, and potential repairs.

Limitation of Liability:

Homecamp's liability is limited to the terms outlined in the warranty. Any claims related to normal wear and tear or excluded damages are not eligible for replacement, repair, or refund.

By purchasing and using the Fenby Chair, the customer acknowledges and accepts the inherent nature of outdoor exposure and the expected wear and tear associated with such usage.

Returns:

Once the product packaging is opened, we offer a 7-day appreciation period (not a trial period) to determine the product's working condition. Once used, the product cannot be returned or exchanged unless there is a manufacturing defect and/or agreed by Homecamp. If a defect is discovered, the product will be replaced or an alternative offered within 7 days of inspection by Homecamp.

Products can only be returned with a Homecamp-issued return number. To return the product, contact Homecamp via email ([email protected]) with the original order number, reason for return, and relevant photographic evidence.

We will issue a return number with further instructions.
