Notes on assembling Winnerwell Nomad External Air Stoves

The instructions for the Winnerwell Nomad Eternal Air stove can be a bit challenging to follow, so we've rewritten them here. Please note that one of the flue sections has a different diameter compared to the other four. This specific flue section is designed to fit into the spark arrestor.

  1. Unbox your new stove, unfold the legs.

  1. Using gloves (pipe ends can be sharp) take the pipe pieces out of the stove chamber. You will find 4x pipe sections 76mm diameter, 1x 73mm diameter and 1x spark arrestor.

  1. Place the larger pipe sections together and insert into the stove. If using a triple wall chimney and flashing kit, add this after the second pipe section, (depending on the height of your tent roof). The triple wall pipe should have at least 5 vents showing when outside.

  1. Feed the chimney section through the flashing kit installed on the tent roof. This can be quite a tight fit so use a water based lubricant or liquid detergent if you are having difficulties.

  1. Adjust the flashing kit moving it into place so that the tent roof is even.

  1. The triple wall pipe should have at least 5 vents showing when outside.

  1. Add the remaining larger pipe sections and finish with the smaller section and the spark arrestor on top. The spark arrestor has attachment points to apply guy lines if needed in high winds or when using the stove without a tent.

  1. Install the external air pipe by attaching it to the outlet at the rear of the stove and tighten to secure. This should be facing towards the wall of the tent where you will create you external air outlet.

  1. Take the Winnerwell Opener and Seal Set and remove the rain proof plate (keep aside and replace for when stove is not in use).

  1. Place the outer rim of the Seal Set and trace the screw holes onto the canvas wall of your tent. Position at least 10cm up from the floor and directly behind the stove.

  1. Using a skewer or pointed object, make holes in the canvas to allow the bolts to push through.

  1. Tightly screw together the outer rims on each side of the canvas.

  1. Using a sharp blade or scissors, cut out the pipe hole within the seal rim.

  1. Feed the external air pipe through the hole and away from the tent, tighten the end cap and mesh protector.

  1. You can now light your fire using the damper on the side of the stove to control air intake. Keep the damper open when burning a fire.

  1. Your stove is now ready to use.
