Are Homecamp tents PFAS-free?
Are Homecamp tents PFAS-free?
Yes. Our canvas uses PFAS-free waterproofing treatments rather than older fluorinated waterproof coatings. Our canvas has also been independently tested for PFAS substances.
Are your bell tents waterproof without PFAS?
Yes. Waterproof performance in canvas tents comes from a combination of canvas weave, fibre swelling, treatment technology and tent design — not simply chemical coatings alone.
Are Homecamp tents fireproof?
No tent should ever be considered completely fireproof. However, our Classic Bell Tent canvas is fire-resistant and independently tested for fire performance standards used for textile structures and marquees. Always follow safe stove and campfire practices.
Why does PFAS matter in outdoor gear?
PFAS chemicals have historically been used in some waterproof outdoor fabrics and coatings. Increasing regulation and consumer awareness has led many outdoor brands and manufacturers to transition toward PFAS-free alternatives.
Why does Homecamp use canvas instead of synthetic tent fabrics?
Canvas offers excellent breathability, comfort and durability for extended camping and accommodation use. It naturally reduces condensation compared with many synthetic fabrics and creates a more comfortable environment across a wide range of conditions.
